What’s Your Word for The Year? January 14, 2019

As we enter 2019 with our new hopes and dreams, we are also faced with one common challenge – staying on track!

We begin each year with a list of resolutions in the areas we know will help us become a better version of ourselves. But as days turn into months, many of us find ourselves on different paths, driving us away from our success.

Why? It is because we haven’t simplified our process. Life gets complicated, responsibilities intensify and we go back to our old mindset. It’s just easier that way.

Becoming better is not about creating a laundry list of unrealistic goals. It is about identifying the “one” thing that you can do that will help you grow in the biggest area of your life.

This year, I picked the word “present.” Knowing one of my flaws, my daily 2019 mantra is “stop reflecting about the past or thinking about the future, just clear my mind of any random thoughts and be present to the moment.”

With that word at the forefront, I created a “present” goal for my physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional well-being buckets. It’s clear and focused which makes it easy for a newer mindset to emerge and keep me on the right path to achieving all of my aspirations.

So pick a word this year! Keep it simple and it align it to your buckets and I guarantee your path to success this year.
